Projects and Programs

• Develop a comparative matrix, which will contrast Houston with other
  major ‘international’ cities; follow with a set of recommendations on
  ways to promote Houston as a leading international city.
• Explore the possibility of Houston making a bid to host the 2020
  World Expo.
• Update and distribute the revised European Council’s Power Point
  presentation: “Houston: The New Business Capital: Reasons to Place
  Houston First in the US for Expansion and investments.”
• Support and Implement the Houston-Moscow Protocol for
  Cooperation and the Memorandum of Understanding signed between
  the Port of Houston and Port of Rotterdam.
• Initiate inbound trade missions (led by mayors of major international
  cities) and foster outbound trade missions.
• Organize and lead in 2009 together with the City of Houston, Greater Houston Partnership, Houston Airport Systems, Port of Houston Authority and US Commercial Service-Houston a trade mission "Invest in Houston" to Milano, Paris, Einhoven, Rotterdam, Hamburg and Moscow.
