Mission Statement
Dedicated to the preservation, promotion, and continued growth of Houston's standing as a renowned international city, the mission of the MIADC is to establish concrete objectives that embrace matters of international affairs, economic, and community development. The MIADC will assist in the creation of strategies and in the implementation of projects that will enhance Houston's presence on the global stage.

Beginning the week of March 10, 2006, the Mayor’s International Affairs & Development Councils (MIADC) held their first meetings and each Council elected their respective officers. Established in December of 2005 after more than a year’s time in preparation, the MIADC aims to expand channels for constructive dialogue between our city’s thriving international communities and the city leaders. Helen T. Chang, Director of the Mayor's Office of International Affairs and Development (MOIAD) of the City of Houston, oversees the MIADC council.
